What does life insurance include?
Most life insurances deal with reaching a certain age and with death. Depending on the type of insurance, they can also cover serious illness, invalidity etc. The purpose of insurance in general is to provide financial assurance in the event of an accidental and unexpected event. We cannot say about any of these examples that we know in advance whether and when they can occur. If they are the subject of insurance, we call them insurance claims. As well as the fact that life insurance serves as financial security in the event of unpleasant circumstances, it can also be a way of valorising funds. We call this type of product capital life insurance.
Who receives the money from the life insurance if the insured person dies?
In the event of the death of the insured person, Generali Slovensko pays out the insurance to the authorised person. The advantage of the insurance is that the authorised person whose right to the sum arises following the death of the insurance person can be defined in advance, in the insurance policy itself. If at the time of the death of the insured person, there is no defined authorised person, or he has not acquired the right to the sum, this right is acquired by the persons defined in the ordination § 817 art. 2 and 3 of the Civil Code (husband, wife, children, parents).
For capital life insurance, in the event of the insured person reaching the set age, the set amount is paid out, together with the acknowledged dividends.
What if a customer concludes life insurance and loses his job for example, or is suddenly no longer able to pay the insurance?
Generali Slovensko offers for exactly this situation advantageous variable life insurance. With Dynamik variable capital life insurance, the insured person can in the event of any bad financial situation interrupt the payment of the insurance and then renew it, or if necessary reduce or increase the insurance paid, as well as the insurance target sum. In practice, this means that if the insured person loses his jobs, for example, or if it is a woman (parent) who goes on parental leave, they simply interrupt the payment of the insurance and renew it once they commence work. Even though this product is relatively new on the market, in the Czech republic it has become the most popular product of the year.
Generali Slovensko offers an equally variable insurance for investment insurance, too. Of course, in the case of other life insurances too, which are not as variable as the above-mentioned insurance products, there are possibilities of reacting to chances in the financial situation of the insured person so that the payment is finished, but not the insurance.
Is it possible to insure antiques in a flat with Generali Slovensko?
With Generali Slovensko, a normal household contents insurance covers the insurance of antiques; this insurance is included in the product “Household Contents Insurance”. In the Standard insurance, each antique is insured to a maximum amount of 10% of the insured amount, and the rule applies for all antiques that the insurance company pays for the damage to antiques with a total limit of 15% of the insured amount (the insured amount can range from 200 to 800 thousand Sk).
In the Special insurance, the basic cover for one antique is up to the amount of 20 000Sk and an increased limit can be negotiated for a whole group of antiques up to the amount of 30% of the total insured amount which can be in a range between 500 thousand and 3 million Sk.

If, for example, a customer’s flat is burgled and he is insured, what should he do?
Whenever a crime is suspected, the customer must immediately call the police and then according to the insurance conditions inform the insurance company in any way that a claim situation has occurred. Customers of General Slovensko can make a claim by telephone, fax, in person or in writing, depending on what is most convenient.
How should a customer define the amount insured for buildings insurance or household contents insurance?
For buildings insurance:
The purpose of insuring a house/ flat is to ensure enough finances to obtain a house/ flat of the same type, quality, size and age in the given locality, if the house/ flat is destroyed by an insurance event. If the insured house/ flat is damaged by an insurance event, the insurance company pays out the amount corresponding to the reasonable costs for repair.
With Generali Slovensko the insured person defines the insured amount on his own, according to his own reasoning, but the amount should correspond to the insurance value of the object in the year of insurance. The insured amount of insured buildings is the new value, i.e. the amount which ought usually to be spent to build a new building of the same type, extent, quality and age in the given place, including costs for preparing the project documentation.
For household contents insurance:
With Generali Slovensko, the customer sets the insured amount on his own, according to his needs, making sure this amount would be sufficient to equip once more the household in the event of its total destruction. For this insurance, our insurance company does not object to under-insuring.
What do you do when gravel from a passing car breaks someone’s windscreen?
If they have all risks motor insurance, then Generali Slovensko reimburses the costs for the replacement of the windscreen, after the deduction of the excess.
If the injured party applies for compensation for the damaged windscreen from the insured person’s compulsory third party motor insurance in our insurance company and the right to compensation of damages is proven, Generali Slovensko pays the compensation for the damage caused to the windscreen according to the legal standards.
Do you have any solution to avoid a broken windscreen having an influence on the bonus?
Customers of Generali Slovensko can conclude extra windscreen insurance on top of the all risks insurance, and in this case they do not lose their bonus or excess, and of course, they do not have to worry at all about who broke the windscreen.
