Travel insurance

Payment for treatment or hospitalization abroad can amount to astronomical numbers. Therefore, before every trip abroad, it is recommended that you take out travel insurance, just in case. It doesn’t matter whether you are travelling as a tourist or if you study or work abroad. If you choose one of our default insurance packages, you will receive coverage for a series of events that could occur during your travels, such as luggage insurance.

TRAVEL Trip
TRAVEL Trip insurance is designed for those who travel abroad on holiday, for a short trip or to work only for a short time. It can be taken out for a minimum of one day and a maximum of 183 days. You can choose your coverage for the area of Europe (it refers to insured events in any European country with the exception of the Slovak Republic), in countries around and in the Mediterranean sea - Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Tunis, Libya, Turkey, Israel, Syria, Cyprus and Russia, or throughout the world (except the Slovak Republic). The base of TRAVEL Trip insurance is the insurance of medical expenses. Thanks to this insurance, in case of the occurrence of an insured event, we will reimburse your expenses for urgent treatment and expenses related to transport back to your place of permanent address, following accident or sudden illness abroad.
We will reimburse:
- Ambulance treatment (including stomatological treatment, if it is acute, except for neglect or incomplete treatment)
- Hospitalisation
- Medicine prescribed by a doctor
- Transport to the closest health centre
- Repatriation of the premium (including the case when the insured person cannot be transported to Slovakia by a planned means of transport)
- Repatriation of bodily remains
- Assistance services

The abovementioned expenses will be reimbursed, if they are not covered by your health insurance by means of European card of health insurance. The maximum payment of a loss is up to 200,000 SKK (€6,638.78).

TRAVEL Trip insurance can be taken out by anybody aged between 0 and 75 years of age (for those aged 66 to 70 for increased premiums). This means that for only 26 SKK (€0.86) per day, you are protected on your travels. If you think about the price of treatment abroad, it is really worth it.

TRAVEL TRIP:
It is also possible to take out other additional coverage within TRAVEL Trip insurance, which will provide more comfort and assurance abroad, just in case. It is only up to you to select what you want:

TRAVEL Globus
For those travelling abroad several times a year - for holiday, shopping, trips or work, we have TRAVEL Globus insurance. It is taken out for one year and it will protect you every time you are abroad, for a maximum period of 45 days. This type of insurance offers coverage anywhere in the world. For only 480 SKK (€15.93) a year you will receive comfort and assurance for every trip abroad. Moreover, if you put more people on one policy, you can receive a discount of up to 30 percent!
Within TRAVEL Globus insurance you can choose several options of coverage - from the basic option, which includes coverage of medical expenses, to our exclusive option, which also includes all other types of coverage, such as luggage and document insurance, trip cancellation insurance, accident insurance or liability for injury and damage to property of third parties, insurance for a spoiled holiday, and others. This type of insurance is designed for travellers aged between 0 and 65 years of age.

The discount depends on the number of insured persons:
2 persons                  15 percent
3 persons                  20 percent
4 persons                  25 percent
5 persons                  30 percent

TRAVEL 365 Insurance
TRAVEL 365 insurance is designed for clients who travel abroad for longer periods, such as while working, au pairing or studying, and who need to be covered for the whole period while abroad, up to a maximum of 365 days. This type of coverage includes medical expenses and is designed for people aged 0 to 65 years.
Thanks to TRAVEL 365 insurance, you are entitled, in case of an insured event, to reimbursement of necessary expenses on urgent treatment and expenses related to the transport to a place of residence which occur as a consequence of injury or sudden illness abroad.
The definition of such expenses is as follows:
- Ambulance treatment (including stomatological treatment, if it is acute, except neglect or incomplete treatment)
- Hospitalisation
- Medicine prescribed by a doctor
- Transport to the closest health centre
- Repatriation of premium (including cases when the insured person cannot be transported to Slovakia by the planned means of transport)
- Repatriation of bodily remains
- Assistance services

The abovementioned expenses will be reimbursed if they are not covered by your health insurance by means of a European health insurance card. The maximum payment of a loss is 200,000 SKK (€6,638.78).

If the agreed territorial validity is for the ‘World’, the coverage is valid for insured events that occur anywhere in the world except for Slovakia. If territorial validity is for ‘Europe’, the coverage is valid for insured events occurring in any European country except Slovakia, and in countries around and in the Mediterranean sea - Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Tunis, Libya, Turkey, Israel, Syria, Cyprus and Russia.

OUT & ACTIVE
OUT & ACTIVE insurance covers the expenses of Mountain Rescue for rescue or search activities in mountainous terrain in Slovakia, up to 300,000 SKK (€9,958.18). OUT & ACTIVE insurance can be purchased by Slovak citizens as well as by foreign tourists visiting mountainous areas of Slovakia. It is intended for adults as well as children. You can choose one of these options:

OUT & ACTIVE Basic
Designed for activities such as:
- Walking (mountains/recreational)
- Skiing (downhill/cross-country)
- Snowboarding
- Sledging
- Bobsleighing

Short-term cover can be taken out for as low as 15 SKK (€0.50) per person per day. It is only 450 SKK (€14.94) per person per year.

OUT & ACTIVE Extreme
- Activities included in the Basic option, plus
- Skiing and snowboarding outside designated tracks or in open terrain
- Paragliding
- Mountain biking
- Mountain climbing
- Wall climbing
- Caving
- Snow-mobiling
The cost for this coverage is 40 SKK (€1.33) per day, or 900 SKK (€29.87) per year.
