Generali Poisťovňa and Česká poisťovňa - Slovensko will join forces on the Slovak market and create the third strongest player on the Slovak insurance market

Generali PPF Holding, represented in Slovakia by the companies Generali Poisťovňa, a.s. and Česká poisťovňa - Slovensko, a.s., has decided to merge the two companies and register the official merger of these two legal entities.

The new integrated company will operate under one common brand and common management under the General Manager Ing. Antonín Nekvinda.

Ing. Nekvinda, the present Managing Director and Vice-President of the Board of Česká poisťovňa – Slovensko, a.s., will assume the management of all activities of Generali PPF Holding in Slovakia on June 1 2008. The new brand of the common enterprise will be published in the following year, as part of the process of integration.

Ing. Roman Juráš, the present President of the Board and Managing Director of Generali Poisťovňa, a.s. and also President of the Board of VÚB Generali, d.s.s, a.s. will continue his career in Generali Holding Austria.

"We decided to merge our activities in Slovakia, as the two companies are similar in size and are oriented towards the same client segments. By combining the best of both companies, we will strengthen our position on the Slovak insurance market under one brand with first-class client service,” said Ladislav Bartoníček, Managing Director of Generali PPF Holding for all the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

At present, both companies will continue their activities in Slovakia as independent entities under their current names, until the merger is complete. Nothing will change for clients and business partners as well as for their existing or new contracts. The process of integration begins on June 1 2008 and it will be managed by a new management under Ing. Antonín Nekvinda. We expect the whole process to be terminated in the second half of 2008.
