Characteristic of the insurance contract for non-life insurance contract - underwriting
The rights and obligations under the insurance contract are governed by:
- the pertinent provisions of the Civil Code, Section 8, - subdivision 15, as amended,
- the pertinent general insurance conditions that form an inseparable part of the insurance contract,
- the pertinent general insurance conditions that form an inseparable part of the insurance contract,
- supplements referenced by the insurance contract, annexes of the insurance contract and other provisions of the insurance contract.
Hazards covered

- fire, explosion, lightning, impact of flying or falling aeroplane, its parts or cargo,
- flood, flash flood, gale, hail,

- interruption of operations due to material damage,

- for mechanical devices and machinery insurance - construction error, faulty material, production defect of the insured object, steam, gas or liquid overpressure or underpressure, lack of water in boilers, lack of balance or tear caused by centrifugal force, fall or penetration of foreign object, short circuit or other effects of electric current, failure of metering, regulatory or security devices, frost,
- for electronic devices insurance - construction error, material fault, production defect of the insured object, short circuit or other effects of electric current,,
- for agricultural crops insurance - hail, gale, fire, flood, flash flood, landslide, spring frost, ground frost
- for livestock insurance - contagion, infectious diseases, body overheating for poultry and rabbits, injury, congenital damage.

Excess
Insurance is negotiated with excess payment which is understood as a sum agreed on by the insured person/policyholder and the insurer in the insurance contract, that is subtracted from indemnity paid out by the insurer for each insured event.
Insurance termination
Should the insurance contract be terminated, the entitlement to any insurance coverage is null and void. Provided the insurance is terminated due to failure to pay premium, the insurer is entitled to premium payments for the period until the insurance termination, that is, a debt arises which the policyholder is obliged to settle. Should there be an insured event which eliminates the reason for further insurance, the insurer is entitled to premium payments for the rest of the term of insurance during which the insured event took place.
Supplementary services and related charges
Should there be a dispute regarding the extent of indemnity, the insured person and the insurer may come to an agreement to have the indemnity determined by the so-called expert proceedings. Each party covers the expenses of their own expert, the costs of the expert with the decisive voice are covered by the parties in equal part.
The insurer has the right to claim from the policyholder compensation of costs related to delivery of documents related to payment of overdue premium.
Provisions that do not require policyholder's consent
Should the insured event take place at time when the policyholder owes overdue premium to the insurer, the insurer has the right to subtract such overdue premium from the indemnity paid out to the policyholder.
