Information on the terms of entering into a personal insurance contract  

Insurer information

Generali Slovensko poisťovňa, a. s., registered office at: Plynárenská 7/C, 824 79 Bratislava, Slovak Republic, ID: 35 709 332, VAT ID: SK2021000487, entered in the Companies Register of the District Court Bratislava I, section: Sa, insert No.: 1325/B. The company is a member of the Generali group, listed in the Insurance Company Group List administered by ISVAP (hereinafter "insurer").

Characteristic of the personal insurance contract

The rights and obligations under the insurance contract are governed by the pertinent provisions of:

  • the Civil Code, Section 8, subdivision 15, as amended,
  • the General Insurance Terms which will form an inseparable part of the insurance contract,
  • Special Insurance Terms which will form an inseparable part of the insurance contract,
  • provisions of the insurance contract.

Hazards covered

Listed in the relevant sections of the insurance terms under: types of insurance, extent of insurance, definitions and others.

This includes in particular:

  • the events of death, maturity,
  • serious illnesses,
  • exemption from the obligation to pay premium,
  • work disability,
  • daily benefits during hospitalization,
  • full disability,
  • death caused by injury,
  • disability caused by injury,
  • permanent effects of injury,
  • extra insurance protection,
  • period of necessary injury treatment,
  • insurance of daily benefits during hospitalization caused by injury,
  • injury compensation,
  • injury related costs,
  • mountain rescue insurance,
  • employment loss.

Assistance services

If the contract so specifies, the insurance also includes provision of assistance services under the terms of assistance service provisions listed in the General Insurance Terms or provisions of the insurance contract.

Indemnity and limits

Indemnity is paid out in accordance with the insurance contract in one of the following manners:

  • amount of coverage,
  • amount of coverage+account balance,
  • amount of coverage/account balance (whichever amounts to the higher sum),
  • amount of coverage+share of profit/investment return

Insurance termination

Should the insurance contract be terminated, the entitlement to any insurance coverage is null and void. Provided the insurance is terminated due to failure to pay premium, the insurer is entitled to premium payments for the period until the insurance termination, that is, a debt arises which the policyholder is obliged to settle. Should there be an insured event which makes further insurance irrelevant, the insurer is entitled to premium for the whole period wherein the insured event took place.

Supplementary services and related charges

The insurer has the right to charge the policyholder a fee up to the extent of extraordinary administrative costs for actions undertaken on policyholder's request.

Investment information

Due to the character of shares funds the price of share units is not guaranteed, unless the insurance contract says otherwise. The funds' past performance is not a factor that determines their future development. Investment in the capital markets has the risk of short-term losses and it is therefore important to base your decisions of the recommended investment horizon of shares funds selected in the insurance contract in order to achieve optimal appreciation. Premature termination of insurance contract may result in decreased returns on investment. Information on the shares funds can be found in Information on Investment Funds and the Special Investment Terms that form a part of the General Insurance Terms for investment life insurance products. Charges related to insurance are listed in Annex No. 1 of the General Insurance Terms for life insurance products, or the current price list.

The system of insurer protection from financial institution failure is secured with the tracking mechanism created in accordance with the Insurance Act No. 8/2008 Corpus Juris , as amended. When performing insurance related activities, the insurer is bound to comply with the Insurance Act No. 8/2008 and is subject to supervision by the National Bank of Slovakia. All information listed in this document is provided for information purposes only, when it comes to rights and obligations of the insurer and the policyholder, these are governed solely by the provisions of the insurance contract, general and special insurance terms and amendments listed in the insurance contract, with which the policyholder was acquainted before entering into the insurance contract. As for the information listed in this forms, only the parts that are also listed in the insurance contract and contract documentation of the given insurance products are relevant for the insured person/policyholder.
